Shaker Authentic 1878 - Shaker Style Corn Brooms made on our antique broom winder and press. This is our lightweight kitchen size broom. Extra full and thick broomcorn sweep, but not too heavy. The broom features a genuine American oak handle, smooth and comfortable in the hands.

Made true to the era, our Authentic 1878 Shaker Kitchen Broom is a scaled down version of our popular 1878 porch and floor broom. These brooms are meticulously hand-crafted the old way, using antique equipment from the late 19th century. We are proud to offer these durable brooms, and to carry on this tradition right here in our shop.

These brooms are made from 1 lb. of North American broom corn, with an American sourced hardwood handle. The durable sweep is stitched flat by hand with three rows of chocolate waxed linen twine, with a matching brown leather loop for hanging. Perfectly balanced in the hands -- functional and pleasing to the eye.

The overall length of the broom is approximately 55". The sweep is 10" wide, with soft bristles, long, full, and flexible.
